What is CalFresh?

CalFresh is California's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). CalFresh is financial aid for food! It is a nutrition assistance program that provides eligible students with up to $298 per month in the form of a cash grant to spend on groceries. It gives students the flexibility to buy the foods they love at their favorite grocery stores or farmers markets (Trader Joe’s, Costco, Vons, Food 4 Less, the downtown Farmers’ Market and more)!

These documents will help you to prove your eligibility

  1. ID verification such as a driver’s license, social security card or voter registration.

  2. Rental/Lease agreement. You can still apply if you have no mailing address.

  3. Class Schedule.

  4. Paystubs (if applicable).

  5. Financial aid award letter. This is important even if awarded dollar amount is $0 or blank.
